Youth Intercultural Communication

According to the agreement signed between World Public Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” (WPF DC) and China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (CSCLF) in the year 2009 a children exchange program started joining the efforts of the two organizations in building a reciprocal public relationship between the growing generations in the spirit of international friendship, mutual respect and intercultural dialogue.

The first group from Russia visited the 3rd Soong Ching Ling International Youth Exchange Camp in July, 2012 and traveled across China from Beijing where the official opening ceremony was held to the Inner Mongolia Province with more than 300 other children from 15 different countries. Truly, the format of the event offered the youth a great opportunity to share notions of their country with its unique character, traditions, culture and history and afterwards bring such an excellent and healthy experience back to their homes.

Later, in August, 2012 a children group from China visited Russia where it participated in the 4th “Juvenile Railroader Rally” in Novosibirsk and had a brief sightseeing cultural tour over Moscow.

Both successful visits had a great impact on the development of the cooperation on both bilateral and international level between WPF DC and CSCLF and boosted the Chinese-Russian relationship in public field of youth, cultural and traditional exchanges. A new vigorous agreement was made, establishing future trends of collaboration and defining the concrete projects to carry out.

Among the projects the cooperation in the educational sphere, preparations for active Chinese experts’ participation at the Rhodes Forum – 2013 and brand new youth exchange program could be distinguished.

The youth exchange project implies a 4th Soong Ching Ling International Youth Exchange Camp in July, 2013 in China and The Baykal International Ecological School in Russia to be held in the middle August, 2013. Youth from China, Russia and other Asian and European countries will take part in both events.
