Peter Loescher, Chief Executive Officer, Siemens AG, Germany

Born in 1957, Mr. Loescher studied economics at Vienna University of Economics and Business, at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, received MBA at Vienna University of Economics and Business and also has graduated Harvard Business School, Advanced Management Program.

Since 1985 Mr. Loescher held different senior management positions in “Kienbaum und Partners“ (1985), “Hoechst Group“ (1988), “Aventis Pharma Ltd. “ (Chairman, President and CEO, 2000), “Amersham PLC“ (President of Amersham Health and Member of the Board of Directors,  Chief Operating Officer and Member of the Board of Directors, 2002), General Electric Company (President and CEO of GE Healthcare Bio-Sciences, GE Healthcare, Member of the Executive Board, 2004), “Merck & Co., Inc. “ (President of Global Human Health, 2006) “Siemens AG“ (President and Chief Executive Officer, 2007).

Among external positions of Mr. Loescher are: Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Committee of German Business (APA), Vice Chairman of the European Round Table of Industrialists (ERT), Co-Chairman of the EU-Russia Industrialists’ Round Table (IRT), Member of the Supervisory Board of Munich Re AG.

Mr. Loescher also holds Honorary Doctorate of Engineering, Michigan State University, USA 2007, Grand Decoration of Honor in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria, 2010, Honorary Professorship at Tongji University, China, 2011, McCloy Award, USA, 2011, Expatriate Austrian of the Year 2011, Austria, Order of Friendship, Russia, 2012 and Jubilee Medal “Twentieth Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, 2012.
