Biography:

Valery Egoshkin obtained the highest diplomatic rank of Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation in 1995. He had been the Russian Ambassador in Algeria (1995-2000), in Yugoslavia (2000-2002) and in Kenya (2005-2011) as well as the permanent representative of Russia for the international organizations accredited in Nairobi.

Actually Valery Egoshkin is the assistant of the vice-chairman of the upper chamber of the Russian parliament and coordinates the project for the Center of African culture in Moscow.

His scientific interests include such subjects as mentality and customs, folklore, culture, arts of northern, eastern and south-eastern Africa.

His most recent publications are "African art and Russia" ("Asia and Africa today" N.6, June 2011),"Collecting African artifacts" ("Anticauriat" N.5, May 2011). He is author of many articles in Moscow magazines -"International life ", "World Economy and International Relations " etc.
He is also an editor of the books: "Wonderful pomegranate" (Algerian fairy-tales) (M.1984),"The cooking of the peoples of Arab Magreb" (M.1989),"Larbi-little Algerian" (M. 1989), etc.
