Biography:

Valeriy Nikolaevskiy graduated from Kharkiv State University (KSU), Ukraine.
From 1989 to 1991 he served as the head of Analytical Group of KSU. After that he became the head of Center for Study of Public Opinion of Kharkiv State University and associate professor of the University. 1992 he became a deputy dean of School of Sociology of KSU.

His current positions are: dean of School of Sociology, professor, head of the Department of Sociology of Management and Social Work (KSU) and co-director of NGO “East Ukrainian Foundation for Social Research”.

Valeriy Nikolaevskiy has over 28 years of varied experience in sociology teaching and education administration. During these years he has participated in and conducted a number of research/education projects in the fields of sociology, social work, political science and marketing.
His scientific interests include social security, quality of life, social work, political communication, political sociology, conflict theory, migration, education studies, information society.

Valeriy Nikolaevskiy is also a correspondent member of the Academy of Science of Social Technologies and Local Government (Moscow, Russia) and member of the supervision board of Ukrainian public committee of teenagers’ social problems.
