Lyubov Karelova graduated from Moscow State University, Faculty of Philosophy in 1984. She continued further education in Institute of Philosophy, Russian Academy of Sciences (1985-1989) and got Ph.D. degree (Philosophy) in 1990.
From 1997 to 2002 she was visiting research fellow at Hosei University (Faculty of Law, Tokyo), Shizuoka Profectural University (Shizuoka), Academy of Foreign Languages “Dilla” (Tokyo, teacher of Russian language).
Her current position is senior researcher at Russian Academy of Sciences Institute of Philosophy, Centre for Oriental Philosophies Studies, Moscow.
She is author of more than 50 publications, concerning Japanese thought and culture, including two books - “Ishida Baigan’s Teaching of Heart Learning and Labor Ethics in Japan” (Moscow, 2007) and “At the Origins of Japanese Labor Ethics: History in Portraits” (Moscow, 2007).
