Biography:

Akram Khabibullaev is a librarian for middle eastern, Islamic and central Eurasian studies at Indiana University Bloomington, USA. He holds MLIS from Rutgers University, New Jersey, and PhD in Arabic and Islamic studies from Academy of Sciences, Uzbekistan.

From 2004 to 2007 he worked as a Middle East cataloger at the University of Chicago Library. In academic year 2001-2002 he was member at the Institute for Advanced Study, Princeton.  In 1998-1999 he was visiting Fulbright scholar at the University of Pennsylvania.

In 1997 he received Imam Bukhari fellowship from Oxford Center for Islamic Studies. More than ten years he has worked at al-Beruni Institute for Oriental Studies in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He is the author of two books and more than forty scholarly articles.
