Biography:

Dr. Jamshid Damooei is a professor of economics, chair of the Department of Economics, Finance, and Accounting at California Lutheran University, and co-director of the Center for Leadership and Values in the School of Business.

His former position is a director general of the Bureau of Economic Studies and Policies of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran. Dr. Damooei also served as a senior economist for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and continues to serve as a UNDP and UNOPS consultant.

He is a frequent public speaker on various economic and social issues and is a well-respected commentator for the Los Angeles Times, Ventura County Star, CBS 2, KCAL 9, NPR/KCLU, and KIRN. He holds a Masters of Science and Ph.D. in economics from Surrey University in England. He also received a Masters of Philosophy in economics from the University of London.
