Khanna Madhu is a professor in Religious and Indic Studies at Centre for the Study of Comparative Religion and Civilizations, Jamia Millia Islamia University.
She is honorary advisor at Narivad Gender Culture and Civilization Network IGNCA, New Delhi and adjunct professor with Sacred World Research Lab, New Delhi. She also serves as president cum founding member, Tantra Foundation and chief editor, Tantra Monograph Series, New Delhi.
Khanna Madhu is a member of: Centre for Gender and Culture, Lahore, Pakistan; Women’s Scholar Network, International Association for the History of Religion; Editorial Committee, Third Frame, Literature, Culture and Society, A Quarterly Journal of the Academy of Third World Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, Cambridge University Press.
From 2002 to 2003 she was a vice-president, Indian Association for the Study of Religion, New Delhi. (2002-2003).
Khanna Madhu was awarded Mahavir Mahatma Award conferred by Times Foundation, New Delhi for the “Eternal Gandhi” Multimedia Museum Exhibit at the Gandhi Smriti in 2005; in 2001 Achievement Award for Excellence in Research on the Crossing Project Living, Dying and Transformation in Benaras by Xerox PARC, Palo Alto Research Centre, USA; Sarasvati Ratna Abhisekha, Bharat Gaurava Sammana, by Samaratha Siksha Samiti, Delhi for contribution to Tantra-studies in 2000; Inlaks Foundation Award for doctoral research at the Oxford University, U.K (1980 – 1982).
