Alexandr Kizilov is the head of the Department of Methods of Sociological Researches at V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University
and executive director of East-Ukrainian Foundation for Social Research.
His former position is associated professor at the School of Sociology of V.N.Karazin Kharkiv National University (1989 – 1993).
In 2010-2011 he was a co-leader of the research project “Teaching History at School: on the Way to Tolerance” (grant of International Renaissance Foundation).
Currently he is co-leader of the Ukrainian team in the international research project HITT-2008 “Health in Times of Transition: Trends in Population Health and Health Policies in CIS Countries” (grant of EU in the framework of the FP7, research of health state of population and public policy in this sphere by quantitative and qualitative methods).
In 2006-2007 he took part in sociological monitoring in Higher Educational Establishments of Ukraine: „Attitude of Academic Community Towards University Autonomy and Way of its Implantation”.
From 2000 to 2001 he was a project leader of Megaproject of International Renaissance Foundation: “Higher Education: Leadership for Progress” (Sociology).
He is author of many publications, such as “The massive social and economic consciousness: Main Trends (1989 – 1993)” and co-author of such articles as “The privatization process in Ukraine: experience analysis of social influence”, etc.
