Mr. Liu Changle is one of Chinese contemporary media leaders and well-known social activists. He takes active part in public affairs concerning people's livelihood and keeps extensive contact with Chinese all around the world. He is also an active promoter of socio-cultural movements relating to Chinese cultural industry and religious and cultural research.
Mr. Liu Changle studied at Communication University of China in the early 1980s. After graduation, he served as reporter, editor, news commentator and then senior manager at news agency. During that time, he made great reports and comments onmajor events, and won many Outstanding News awards.
In 1988, Mr. Liu Changle emigrated overseas and became a businessman. In 1996, Liu Changle and Murdoch's News Corporation co-founded Phoenix Satellite Television Company Limited in Hong Kong. Since its launch, Phoenix TV is committed to providing high-quality Chinese television program to Chinese all over the world.Phoenix now operates six TV channels and has expanded into other areas of business, including new media, outdoor LED, weekly magazine, publishing, radio broadcasting and education.
Mr. Liu is the recipient of numerous titles and awards, among which include “Top 10 Most Entrepreneurial Chinese Business Leaders”, “Top 10 Most Innovative Media Entrepreneurs in Mainland China”, “Person of the Chinese Charity” and “Ten Most Successful Men in China”.Mr. Liu has also been awarded the “Robert MundellSuccessful World CEO Award”, the “Media Entrepreneur Award” in “Ernst & Young’s China Entrepreneur Award” etc.
Mr. Liu is avisiting professor at a number of mainland universities.He has been appointed to the board of directors of Nanjing University, Tongji University and Huaqiao University. He was also conferred an honorary doctoral degree inliterature by the City University of Hong Kong and was appointed the Chairman of the College International Advisory Board by the College of Business of the City University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Liu is also a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and currently serves as the Vice Chairman of the Subcommittee on Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports, of the Eleventh National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference.
